Victoria Villarreal is currently the guitarist & vocalist for the progressive death-metal band Syrebris. She began her musical journey when she fell in love with the guitar at the age of 17. She was taught by a high school friend how to play the acoustic with the basic strumming and chords which helped her on her way to teaching herself how to play electric guitar.
At the time she was most inspired by hard rock and punk music, and joined her first punk band at the age of 19. As her love for music and for guitar grew, she became drawn to musical genres such as jazz, world, classical, and heavier music especially within the realm of death metal. Victoria knew this is where her heart is and pursued to learn, play, and write within this genre through out her years. Metal has been the core of her inspiration and has taken her guitar playing skills to a whole new level.
Aside from guitar, she loves singing and doing death metal vocals. In 2011, she joined the melodic death metal band Bow Before None as the lead vocalist where she gained recognition within the San Fernando Valley metal scene. At the time of Victoria’s early musical exploration, she met her boyfriend (now husband) Manuel Villarreal who is also a guitarist that she has learned from and been inspired by. With this great chemistry, the two collaborate in writing music together to this day. Together they formed their band Syrebris and have released a 7 track EP titled Aetheric Dynamics. Victoria has played numerous shows in her band through out Southern California as well as touring along the west coast of the U.S. She is currently working on writing a full length album for her band Syrebris as well as building her own home studio to write and record music for her new solo project.
